Several Directed Reading Programs (DRPs) have been created by doctoral programs around the country (including a few virtual versions).  In these programs,  graduate students mentor promising undergraduates for a semester, meeting weekly to discuss a reading topic, and provide peer mentoring.  We want to build on this concept.  We believe that a faculty-led mentored remote reading program could provide a huge benefit to  Math Alliance Scholars. It will introduce students to advanced material (beneficial for graduate school, Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs), and internship applications), and it might provide the student with a letter of recommendation from someone at a doctoral program.  Potential mentors and students can use the links above to explore the options available to them.
